September has certainly turned out to be exceptional, with temperatures progressively rising, culminating in 27.7C (81.86F) on the last day of the month. This temperature is about 10C above the September average. Rain was also scarce with only 13.1mm falling, against an average of 50mm. October has continued in the same vein with 28.9C (84.02F) recorded in Framlingham on the 1st. and 30.1C (86.18F) on the 2nd.On 2nd October 1952 (or maybe the 3rd, due to a discrepancy in reports on timing), Britain became the third power to produce nuclearweapons.Operation Hurricane was the detonation of a 25kt Plutonium implosion bomb, in the ship HMS Plym, anchored near Trimouille Island off the north western coast of Australia. The Plutonium to fuel the device came mostly from the Windscale reactor in Cumbria, later reverting back to its original name of Sellafield.

This ‘week’s’ picture is of our three dogs’ re-enactment of the Walt Disney film ‘The Incredible Journey’ (based on the novel by Shelia Burnford). Grace the Jack Russell is playing Tao the Siamese cat, Polly the Hungarian Puli is playing Bodger the Bull Terrier and Toby the ginger mongrel is playing the Labrador retriever, Luath.
This is their first (and probably last) production that opened in Fram to mixed revues.

With everybody trying to make ends meet in these hard times, I took it upon myself to contact Microsoft, offering the services of Mrs. P. as a software designer; the extra money would help her to pay for the new chainsaw I am buying her for Christmas.
Anyway, these big corporations are so rude; I still haven’t had a reply to my telegram yet.

This week’s top money saving tip is when buying loose tomatoes, make sure you take off the green stalky bits before you get to the checkout, otherwise you will be paying for these, only to throw them away.
